a positive path forward

Where Nothing is Permanent.

Hello, I am Alexis.

I just celebrated my 52nd birthday in February, I'm a wife, a mother of 4 amazing kids (24, 17, 12, 8), I am a serious middle child, a wisdom seeker, a lifelong friend to just a few, my circle is small, a trusted confidant, and daughter of the most high. I have gone through life’s trials and tribulations and came out alive and free. I have seen it all or at least most things. I have life experiences where I lost my mother, a dear friend, I've lived with a chronic pain condition for 30 years now, I’ve been through marriage and divorce, miscarriage, childbirth, death, grief, I battled anxiety, depression at times, and experienced one of my children going through mental health challenges. When mom died, I realized that life is too short. So, I quit my job in healthcare management to follow my purpose in life and is to help humanity. I earned my BA in psychology and my MA in Human Services Counseling. I completed my practicum and internship in a mental & behavioral health hospital where I started in clinical mental health counseling to earn my ALC. I powered though the forensic unit and moved to residential treatment and eventually the group home settings. I gained experiences in working with both adults and adolescents with mental health conditions like PTSD, ADD, Depression, Anxiety disorders, schizoaffective & schizophrenia disorders including audio and visual hallucinations, eating disorder, self-injurious behaviors, suicide attempts and ideations, sexual trauma, human trafficking, and physical abuse just to name a few. All that to say, the conditions were real, the trauma was real, and the cycle was real that it was wearing me down. Self-care is so important and needed in this field.
*DISCLAIMER: "I currently hold my associates license in counseling in the state of Alabama as a mental health professional in my day job. The life coaching services I provide are not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, or medical advice as I am working under supervision. If you need mental health advice, I will refer you to seek medical advice. My role is to support and guide you in personal growth, wellbeing, and achieving your personal goals. If you are experiencing significant emotional distress or mental health concerns, I encourage you to seek help from a healthcare provider or mental health specialist."

life may feel like a bumpy road at times.

This all started when my mother passed away 11 years ago. It was then when I realized that life was too short and we are only here for a breath in comparison to the universe. I decided to start a new journey in life and reach my calling to help others. As a compassionate and empathic person, allow me the pleasure to use my education and experience to help get out of a rut and help you see the positive parts of YOU.
